Bedroom Farce - 2010 - West End History , Info & More

Duke of York's Theatre
St Martin's Ln, Charing Cross, London WC2N 4BG, United Kingdom London WC2N 4BG

Peter Hall’s production of Bedroom Farce, one of Ayckbourn’s best loved works, opened to critical acclaim at the Rose Theatre in Kingston last year and now makes its return to the West End at the Duke of York’s Theatre for a fifteen week run from March 24th.

Four couples, three bedrooms, two celebrations, one blazing row and an illicit kiss (or two). Alan Ayckbourn’s ingenious comedy shines a brilliant spotlight onto the trials and tribulations of suburban marriage.

Trevor and Susannah have a problem relationship which requires urgent attention. What better solution than to talk it over with family and friends? Preferably in their respectivebedrooms and ideally in the middle of the night. Inevitably, one problem relationship tends to spark off another.

When you have friends like Trevor and Susannah, nobody gets much sleep.

The Lost Studio Presents the American Premiere of Alan Ayckbourn's CONFUSIONS, 1/15-3/7
by BWW News Desk - Dec 5, 2009

A matchless quintet of interlinked plays by Britain's best-loved comic playwright, illustrates the hilarious consequences of not listening to one another.  Ayckbourn's overlapping characters are alternately naturalistic and farcical - quirky, neurotic, self-important, and hysterical.  Whether the comedy concerns marital conflict, infidelity, motherhood, or manhood; is set on a park bench or at a village fete, the characters reveal a LOL timeless familiarity in their desperation to make contact with one another. Ayckbourn's American premiere of 'Confusions' will be staged by the Lost Studio from January 15 - March 7, 2010 in Los Angeles.
