The 2011 CCHA Championship marks the 30th anniversary of the event being held at Joe Louis Arena. The first championship held at The Joe was in 1982 with Michigan State defeating Notre Dame, 4-1.

Located at the heart of the Las Vegas Strip, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas officially opens its doors to the public for the first time tonight at 8 p.m. Pacific Time (4 a.m. GMT). The evening's festivities will include a first-look party for invited guests, followed by the traditional ceremonial first bet just before the doors open. At 11 p.m., the resort's first guests will enjoy an outdoor concert by Brandon Flowers, The Killers front man--a Las Vegas native. In a first-ever innovation for the legendary Las Vegas entertainment scene, the opening-night concert will be simulcast on The Cosmopolitan's marquee, meaning passersby on the Las Vegas Strip will be able to watch the concert live on its 65-foot-tall LED-display marquee.
