Royal Shakespeare Company Announces 2014 Season
Wayward Productions re-immerses itself into the underworld of a motorcycle gang to create an environmental reinterpretation of this classic Shakespearean Tragi-History. Wayward's 'royal family' is The Warlocks Motorcycle Club and their 'castle'-London's bar in early 1970's Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The Guthrie today announced that eight artists who have graced the Guthrie's stages during its 50-year history, from the first season in 1963 to the theater's current season, are slated to participate in the Guthrie's 50th anniversary on June 22, 2013. Exclusive interviews with the legendary Zoe Caldwell and Christopher Plummer will be unveiled as part of a poignant and celebratory multi-media tribute, while stage veterans Barbara Bryne, Peter Michael Goetz and Stephen Yoakam; two graduates of the University of Minnesota/Guthrie Theater B.F.A. Actor Training Program, Matthew Amendt and Valeri Mudek; and an alum of A Guthrie Experience for Actors in Training, Erik Heger; will perform live for the one-night-only event.

Cleveland Play House (CPH) will host their 17th Hall of Fame Luncheon on Tuesday, May 14th in the Allen Theatre at PlayhouseSquare. This year's honorees have contributed to the success of CPH through many different avenues, and their professional accomplishments have accentuated CPH's proud history. This year's recipients include Dorothy and Frank Draz, Dee Hoty, Barclay Leathem and Jack Weston. Also being recognized is The Women's Committee of Cleveland Play House, which will be presented with the Heritage Award by Roe Green for their contributions to CPH.

Kansas City Repertory Theatre opens its 48th season with the Tony Award-nominated musical Pippin, which features a score by Grammy-winner Stephen Schwartz and book by Roger O. Hirson. The Rep's artistic director Eric Rosen will direct the musical, which runs September 14-October 7 in Spencer Theatre.

April 19 and 20, 2012, EarShot (the National Orchestral Composition Discovery Network) and the San Diego Symphony (SDS), Jahja Ling, Music Director, will present the San Diego Symphony New Music Readings at Copley Symphony Hall (750 B Street, San Diego). On Friday, April 20 at 10am, the public will have the opportunity for a behind-the-scenes look at the process of bringing brand new orchestral works to life, as music by the four selected composers is read by the San Diego Symphony under the baton of guest conductor, James Feddeck. The composers-Paul Frucht, David Garner, Adam Greene, and Chen-Hui Jen-were selected through a national call for scores, which included over 250 applications. Two of the composers have strong ties to San Diego: Greene is an alumnus, and Jen is a current graduate student at University of California, San Diego (UCSD). During the Readings these young composers will receive feedback from mentor composers Robert Beaser, Rand Steiger, and John Corigliano, the conductor, and SDS principal musicians.

Three Europeans are isolated on the construction site of a western company in the heart of Africa, surrounded by barbed wire fences. High up on the watchtowers above, African security guards call out in the night to one another in throat songs to keep awake. As evening falls, a mysterious man, Alboury, penetrates the camp. When it emerges that he has come to demand the body of his brother who died that day in unknown circumstances, the ensuing action leads to a disturbing twist of events.
