Museum takes place on the final day of a group show of three fictional contemporary American artists being exhibited in a major museum of modern art. Over the course of the day some forty people walk through the show: art lovers, skeptics, foreigners, students, lost souls, fellow artists, and of course, museum guards. The play is about the movement and yearning of these people.

On Sunday, July 27 at 2 p.m. on the museum's Great Lawn, John Gatti will present "Canzoni di Domenica Pomeriggio" ("Songs for a Sunday Afternoon"). Anybody expecting a 'museum piece' from the Peter Pasyk-directed production of The Trojan Women at the 2014 Toronto Fringe Festival will be disappointed. While based on Euripides' 2,500-year-old classical text, the 1978 adaptation by celebrated poet Gwendolyn MacEwen also examines faith and individual choice through the experiences of the survivors. Dora-nominated director Pasyk and 16 emerging artists will honour the universal--and startlingly contemporary--themes inherent in the work but present it in a world that audiences find familiar: the here and now or, as Pasyk describes it, 'tomorrow'.

The Museum of the City of New York announces City as Canvas: Graffiti Art from the Martin Wong Collection, the first exhibition of the treasure trove of 1970s and '80s graffiti art amassed by artist and pioneering collector Martin Wong, who donated the entire collection to the City Museum in 1994. Center for Puppetry Arts officials announced today details on the organization's highly anticipated renovation and expansion plans. The project, set to be completed in 2015, will include a new museum, with a Global Collection and the world's most comprehensive collection of Jim Henson's puppets and artifacts. Project highlights also include a new library and archival space, a renovated entryway and many other upgrades to existing spaces that will ultimately enhance the experience for Center for Puppetry Arts' visitors. As the nation's largest nonprofit dedicated to the art of puppetry, these updates will allow the organization to continue to touch even more lives through the art of puppetry while giving guests a new appreciation for the global scope and universal power of the art form. As part of the project, the Center is protecting and preserving hundreds of international and Henson treasures for future generations to explore and understand.
