Tickets for the upcoming Broadway production of George Bernard Shaw's play Mrs. Warren's Profession go on sale to the general public on July 30. The production, to be produced by the Roundabout Theatre Company, will star Tony® Award winner Cherry Jones as Kitty Warren and Golden Globe winner Sally Hawkins making her Broadway debut as Vivie Warren and will be directed by Tony® Award winner Doug Hughes at the American Airlines Theatre on Broadway (227 West 42nd St). The cast will also feature Adam Driver as Frank Gardner, Mark Harelik as Sir George Crofts, Edward Hibbert as Mr. Praed and Michael Siberry as Reverend Samuel Gardner.

Paula Brancati, Lauren Collins, Wendy Crewson, Cynthia Dale, Andrea Martin, and Louise Pitre are officially set to be the first cast of the Toronto production of LOVE, LOSS, AND WHAT I WORE. As in the initial New York staging of the play by Nora and Delia Ephron, the production will feature a company of six that rotates in four-week cycles. The next cast will be announced in the next upcoming weeks.

The Irish play that led to riots in the streets of Dublin when it debuted 103 years ago and became a comic masterpiece, The Playboy of the Western World, opens the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival's 19th season. With previews June 16 and 17, the play opens June 18 in the Schubert Theatre and continues through July 3.

Mantello Helms Baitz's THE OTHER DESERT CITIES at Lincoln Center in '10-'11; Opts out of Bway Run

The New York Times reports today that Jon Robin Baitz's THE OTHER DESERT CITIES, to be directed by Joe Mantello, will be produced at the Mitzi Newhouse Theatre at Lincoln Center off-Broadway in the 2010-2011 season. The production had been aiming for a Broadway run next year, however, the Baitz has now decided that show show is better suited for a smaller production at the moment, and will open at the Newhouse on January 13, 2011. Previews will begin on December 16, 2010.
