Henry VIII by Shakespeare is a play based on realistic events; it follows King Henry VIII's divorce from Queen Katherine and his subsequent marriage to Anne Boleyn (Bullen in the play), who gives birth to Elizabeth I. The play recounts accusations and claims that lead to the fall of the Duke of Buckingham, Katherine, and Cardinal Wolsey. It illustrates their general acceptance that their fall from power is the natural course of events in the world.

Shakespeare LIVE! to Perform 'MIDSUMMER' & JULIUS CAESAR this Spring

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey's acclaimed educational touring company Shakespeare LIVE! will present colorful and dynamic performances of William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream and Julius Caesar on March 8 and April 12 at the F.M. Alexander Gemignani, Judy Kaye & More Star in York Theatre Company's SIX WIVES Concert Tonight

The York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director; Andrew Levine, Executive Director) launches its 2013-14 season with a special concert presentation of the musical Six Wives, with Book and Lyrics by Joe Masteroff and Music by Edward Thomas. Directed by David Green, and with Music Direction by Dennis Buck, the five member cast will feature Nick Wyman and Liam Forde, who replaces the previously announced Claybourne Elder, with Judy Kaye and Alexander Silber as the six wives, and Alexander Gemignani playing Henry VIII. The one-night only concert event will be held tonight, October 28, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. at The York Theatre Company at Saint Peter's (Citicorp Building, entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue).

The Colony Theatre previously announced that it has achieved the first goal of its emergency "Save the Colony" campaign by raising $49,000 in ten days so that it can open THE MORINI STRAD as scheduled tonight, November 17th. Russian bass Ildar Abdrazakov [ahb-drah-ZAH-koff], fresh from his appearances with Italian maestro Riccardo Muti at the Salzburg Festival, commences a powerhouse 2012-13 season with two iconic Mozart roles.
