THE LAVENDER EFFECT is presenting a free workshop performance of the new LGBTQ+ play "y2k" by Michael Liberatore, at West Hollywood Park Auditorium today December 15, 2018 at 7pm. Directed by Jill Andre and starring Mel England, Michael Vaccaro and Christopher Stephanic, "y2k" is set at the turn of the millennium in New York City in the critical days of the AIDS Epidemic during the emergence of life-saving drugs that transformed the landscape of Gay men's relationships and lives.

ISLE of KLEZBOS, the swinging all-women's klezmer sextet, will celebrate their 20th Anniversary with a special concert Isle of Klezbos: Isle of Manhattan! at Joe's Pub on Today, October 25 at 7:00 PM featuring returning guest artist Natalia Zukerman. The band and spellbinding singer-songwriter - whose father, the classical violinist Pinchas Zukerman, is the son of a Polish-born klezmer player - first melded musical minds earlier this year, exploring poignant Yiddish roots and hidden gems from vintage soundtracks, personal histories, vivid resistance narratives, and soulful sounds of liberation. Spreading joy coast to coast this anniversary year, ISLE of KLEZBOS  latest repertoire also features original klezmer bugalu (boogaloo), lesser-known bawdy traditionals, and luscious retakes on irresistible Eastern European swing and tango. Natalia brings vibrant stories and tunes from her powerful multi-media performance, "The Women Who Rode Away," including lush arrangements with backing Klezbos bandmates. The Psychedelic Film and Music Festival has announced the award winners for its inaugural event which featured a lineup of science fiction, horror, fantasy and virtual reality films, music and stage performances and panel discussions that explored the altered states of consciousness and truth behind the vibrant and enduring psychedelic culture. The festival included performances by Simon Boswell with The AND, Psychic Ills, Heaven, Michael Tapper, Roosevelt Island and Nosh and special appearances by Robert Barnhart, Mark Becker, Dr. Dennis McKenna, Shane Mauss and other special guests notable for breakthroughs in the psychedelic community. The festival took place at venues throughout New York City from October 1-7, 2018.

REBEL VERSES Begins Thursday at Vineyard Theatre

Vineyard Theatre and Developing Artists will partner again to present Developing Artists' REBEL VERSES Youth Arts Festival, Thursday through Saturday August 9-18 at Vineyard Theatre (108 E. 15th St.). Since the festival's inception in 2001, REBEL VERSES has provided young artists, ages 13-19, with the opportunity to collaborate and network with their peers and prominent artists, and to showcase their original work. This two-week event, now in its second season Off-Broadway at the Vineyard Theatre, will feature over one hundred artists and performers from ten young-artist companies hailing from all five boroughs of New York City and beyond.

The Artistic Home Announces 2018-19 Season

The Artistic Home Ensemble will present the Chicago premiere of Lauren Gunderson's ADA AND THE ENGINE as the final entry in its three-play 2018-19 season, according to company Artistic Director Kathy Scambiatterra, who announced the season today. The 36-year-old Gunderson was the most-produced playwright in America during 2017, according to American Theatre Magazine.
