Due to sold-out houses and enthusiastic reviews, Handcart Ensemble, in cooperation with THEATRES AT 45 BLEECKER STREET, will remount 'Homer's Odyssey: a Retelling by Simon Armitage' as an Off-Broadway (mini contract) production from October 2 to 18. The play, directed by J. Scott Reynolds, is the stage premiere of 'Homer's Odyssey' as adapted by one of Britain's most gifted and prolific poets. It just completed an Off-off Broadway run September 3 to 19 in the downstairs theater at THEATRES AT 45 BLEECKER STREET. It will resume in the same space.

ARTDOCS NASHVILLE (Artists Receiving Treatment Doctors Offering Crucial Services) is a new 501c3 charitable organization in Nashville offering no-cost medical services for artists without health insurance. ARTDOCS was founded in New Orleans in 1999 by art gallery owner Jonathan Ferrara, Vincent Morelli and a group of physicians and volunteers.

Theater Wit Set To Partner with Three Resident Companies in a New Facility

Artistic Director Jeremy Wechsler has announced the resident theatre roster for Theater Wit's new facility at 1229 W Belmont for the 2010-2011 season. Shattered Globe, Stage Left and Bohemian Theatre Ensemble will all be permanent residents in the new space, using it for productions starting in 2010 and moving forward.

Parison, Jr., presents a workshop of a new play, I Got Sick Then I Got Better by Jenny Allen, directed by James Lapine and Darren Katz, as part of the theater's 15th Anniversary Season. Performances will take place at BSC's Stage 2 space, 36 Linden Street, Pittsfield, on Friday, May 15 and Saturday, May 16 at 8pm, with a Sunday matinee May 17 at 3pm.
