Houston Grand Opera (HGO) will hold a special fundraising day today, December 2, as part of#GivingToday, an international movement to create a day of giving at the start of the annual holiday season. The program celebrates and encourages charitable activities that support nonprofit organizations. It was launched in 2012 by the 92nd Street Y in New York and the United Nations Foundation, and has been adopted by organizations around the globe. HGO is one of the first performing arts groups in the U.S. to hold its own #GivingToday campaign.
In fact the encore PEANUTS special won the hour over Survivor in Adults 18-34, all key Women, Teens 12-17 and Kids 2-11, ranking as Wednesday's #1 TV show on the latter two measures.

Artists Rep will present Noel Coward's elegantly comedic classic, Blithe Spirit, this holiday season. This production is directed by Christopher Liam Moore, an Oregon Shakespeare Festival company member, who directed our 2013 hit comedy Red Herring, and who recently returned from a stint on Broadway with the Tony Award-winning All the Way. Blithe Spirit starts previews tonight, November 25 and runs through December 21.
