Two-time Tony Award-winner and prolific costume designer Martin Pakledinaz died at home this morning, July 8, 2012, after a long illness. He was 58. Pakledinaz has designed hundreds of theater, opera, dance and film pieces during his career spanning more than 30 years.
Executive Producer Lou Spisto today announced that The Old Globe will produce the World Premieres of four new plays and musicals in its 2011-12 Winter Season. Foote also received an Academy Award for Writing the Adapted Screenplay for To Kill a Mockingbird in 1962. His original screenplay Tender Mercies won an Academy Award for Writing of Original Screenplay, as well as the Writers Guild of America Award for Best Screenplay. Foote's screenplay for The Trip to Bountiful (1985) garnered him another Academy Award nomination.
