Winner of seven Tony Awards including Best Musical, Kiss of the Spider Woman explores the complex relationship between two men caged together in an Argentinean prison. Valentin is a tough political revolutionary undergoing torture. Molina is an unabashedly gay man serving time for deviant behavior. Molina recounts to Valentin his favorite movie-musical fantasies, and it becomes a mental refuge for both as the lines of fantasy and reality become blurred. This compelling musical drama resonates love, longing and liberation.

Audiences will enjoy the unique mix of slapstick, fast-paced dialogue, and smouldering sexual tension in GLORIOUS, the new play by Richard Huber opening in The Forge on April 30. Gloria Lord (Amy Straker) is a hurricane in high heels who wreaks her particular brand of mayhem on the life of Jimmy (Keith Adams) an aspiring writer working at one of her daddy's cocktail parties as a waiter. After a chance meeting Gloria decides that she's going to marry Jimmy - no matter what he says.

Paice, Morton, Kushnier Lead Cast Of CHESS At Signature Theatre Thru 9/26

CHESS opened at the Signature Theatre on August 10 and will run through September 26. The cast is lead by Jill Paice (Curtains, The 39 Steps) as Florence Vassy, Euan Morton (Boy George in Taboo, Sondheim on Sondheim) as Anatoly Sergievsky and Jeremy Kushnier (Footloose, Rent) as Freddie Trumper. The rock musical is directed by Signature's Artistic Director Eric Schaeffer. Written by Mamma Mia! composers Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson with Evita and Lion King lyricist Tim Rice, the 1984 cult musical of Cold War competition in love and chess is being given its first major Washington area production. Chess is being performed in the fabulous intimacy of the 276-seat MAX Theatre.
