Sundance Film Festival Announces 2019 Film Lineup

The nonprofit Sundance Institute announced today the showcase of new independent feature films selected across all categories for the 2019 Sundance Film Festival. The Festival hosts screenings in Park City, Salt Lake City and at Sundance Mountain Resort, from January 24 - February 3, 2019.

The Actors' Gang has announced an extension of 'Johnny Got His Gun' at the Ivy Substation, adding two performances, a matinee performance on November 11th, commemorating the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I and Veteran's Day and an evening performance on November 14th. The stage adaptation of Academy Award-winning screenwriter Dalton Trumbo's war novel, Johnny Got His Gun, written by Bradley Rand Smith and directed by Tim Robbins, began previews on October 6th and opened October 13th.

Iron Maiden Confirms Return To North America In 2019

IRON MAIDEN will bring the Legacy Of The Beast Tour to North America in 2019 for an extensive series of arena and amphitheater shows produced by Live Nation, including a first ever headline appearance at the Banc of California Stadium in LA. The tour will cover a total of 33 cities right across the U.S.A. and Canada, including Portland, Oregon where they haven't played since 1987 on the Somewhere In Time Tour, Hartford, Connecticut where they last played in 2005, and many other places not visited since the Maiden England 2012/13 Tour. SHOWTIME has unveiled the official trailer for its new comedy series BLACK MONDAY on the 31st anniversary of the worst stock market crash in the history of Wall Street, dubbed "Black Monday." The series stars and is executive produced by Emmy® nominated and Golden Globe winning actor Don Cheadle and stars two-time Tony Award nominee and Grammy® winner Andrew Rannells (Girls) and Regina Hall (Girls Trip). Paul Scheer (The League) also stars. BLACK MONDAY was created by David Caspe (Happy Endings) and Jordan Cahan (My Best Friend's Girl), who will serve as executive producers and showrunners. Emmy nominees Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg (Preacher, Superbad, Future Man) are executive producers and directed the pilot. The 10-episode series will premiere on Sunday, January 20 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. The Actors' Gang announced today that the stage adaptation of Academy Award-winning screenwriter Dalton Trumbo's war novel, Johnny Got His Gun, written by Bradley Rand Smith and directed by Tim Robbins, will kick off The Actors' Gang 2018/19 Season from Saturday, October 6th to Saturday, November 10th, 2018. The press opening is Saturday, October 13.

'Feathers of Fire: A Persian Epic' is a visually breathtaking cinematic shadow play for all ages, created and directed by Hamid Rahmanian, a 2014 Guggenheim fellowship-winning filmmaker/visual artist. Inspired by the tenth century Persian epic 'Shahnameh' (The Book of Kings), it dramatizes the origin story from the tale with elaborate shadow puppets, multimedia and live actors. The production, which debuted at BAM in 2016 and was presented at the Metropolitan Museum of Art the same year, returns to New York next month for two days only. It will be presented by Fictionville Studio September 7 and 8 at Kaye Playhouse, 695 Park Ave. (at 68th Street), for three performances only before it travels to China and Paris.

 The Music Center announced it will present two star-studded concerts, JONI 75: A Birthday Celebration Live at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion on November 6 and November 7, 2018, featuring an incredible array of singers and musicians who will honor one of the world's most remarkable artists, Joni Mitchell, on her 75th birthday.  On both nights, Glen Hansard, Emmylou Harris, Norah Jones, Chaka Khan, Diana Krall, Kris Kristofferson, Los Lobos, Graham Nash, Seal, and Rufus Wainwright, will perform songs from all stages of Mitchell's life and career, across the entire oeuvre of her 19 studio albums.  Co-musical directors, providing the musical arrangements for the evenings, are drummer Brian Blade, who recorded three studio albums and toured extensively with Mitchell, and, pianist, composer, arranger producer Jon Cowherd.

This September features many new titles coming to Amazon Prime. Prime Original series King Lear will become available on Prime Video on September 28th. Other Prime Originals coming to the service in September include series premieres of Six Dreams (Sep 7) and Forever (Sep 14) as well as season 1a of Pete the Cat (Sep 7) and season 2b of Wishenpoof (Sep 7). Additionally, you can catch season two of PBS's hit British series Victoria starting August 25 on Prime Video.

Driven by the success of Sunday's season premiere of 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' and 'Very Cavallari,' E! ranked as the #1 ad-supported cable network in primetime among P18-34 and was the most social entertainment network of the night, according to Nielsen. The season premiere of 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians,' which saw Kim and her sister Kourtney disagree over scheduling their annual holiday card photo shoot, delivered 2.2 million total viewers, 1.4 million P18-49 and 785,000 P18-34, ranking as the #1 cable program of the night among all key demos. The series was also the #1 most social entertainment program of the night, on broadcast or cable, garnering 586,488 total interactions across Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. Additionally, the latest episode of 'Very Cavallari' earned a season to-date high among all key demos garnering 910,000 total viewers, 661,000 P18-49, and 372,000 P18-34, up 29 percent, 34 percent and 65 percent respectively, from the prior week (7/29/18), marking the fourth consecutive week of growth among P18-49 and total viewers. The series has also garnered nearly 500,000 total views per episode on video on demand platforms through the first four episodes.

Patterns in a Chromatic Field is a late work (1981) by Morton Feldman (1926-1987), an 80-minute odyssey for cello and piano exploring different degrees of stasis and patterns of harmony and color. Patterns in a Chromatic Field reflects Feldman's lifelong fascination with the Abstract Expressionist painters: “My compositions are not really 'compositions' at all,” Feldman said. “One might call them time canvasses in which I more or less prime the canvas with an overall hue of music.”
