Adam Pascal, Anthony Rapp and Gwen Stewart will reprise the roles they originated on Broadway in RENT, The Broadway Tour, which comes to Tempe's ASU Gammage, March 17-22, 2009. Adam Pascal, Anthony Rapp and Gwen Stewart originated the roles of Roger Davis, Mark Cohen and 'Seasons of Love' soloist, respectively, at New York Theatre Workshop and on Broadway. Justin Johnston (Angel), Michael McElroy (Collins) - who are also in the touring show -and Stewart were all members of the final company of RENT which played its last performance on Broadway September 7, 2008. Adam Pascal received Obie and Theatre World awards and Tony and Drama Desk nominations for best actor for RENT. On Broadway he also originated the role of Radames in the hit musical Aida and starred as the Emcee in the long-running revival of Cabaret. His film credits include Rent, School of Rock, SLC Punk!, Temptation and Goyband. An actor since the age of six, Anthony Rapp has appeared on Broadway in Precious Sons (Outer Critics Circle Award), Six Degrees of Separation, and the revival of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. His films include Adventures in Babysitting, School Ties, Dazed and Confused, Six Degrees of Separation, David Searching, Man of the Century, Road Trip, A Beautiful Mind, Open House, Winter Passing, Danny Roane: First Time Director and Scaring the Fish. His book, Without You: a Memoir of Love, Loss, and the Musical Rent, about his experiences on and offstage, was published in 2006 by Simon & Schuster and became a national bestseller.

Van Hill Entertainment is proud to announce that the Off-Broadway premiere of ROOMS a rock romance, starring Leslie Kritzer and Doug Kreeger, will begin performances on Friday February 27th at New World Stages/Stage 2 (340 West 50th Street). Opening Night is set for Monday March 16th (7 PM). Directed by Sandy Shinner, Flyovers is presented in New York by Artistic New Directions, Jeff Landsman and 78th Street Theatre Lab, where Mr. Sweet's acclaimed play Bluff was produced in 2006.

Producer Howard Panter for Ambassador Theatre Group and co-producers Tulchin/Bartner/Jenkins, Bill Kenwright, Northwater Entertainment, Darren Bagert, and Tom Gregory announced the complete cast and design team for the new Broadway production of the greatest musical comedy GUYS AND DOLLS. The first joint Broadway project by two-time Tony Award winning director Des McAnuff and choreographer Sergio Trujillo since their collaboration on the Tony Award winning musical Jersey Boys, GUYS AND DOLLS will begin previews on February 3, 2009 at Broadway's newly refurbished Nederlander Theatre (208 West 41st Street). Fox News is reporting that the talk of the AUSTRALIA movie premiere the other night was the exciting 'news' that the film's star, Hugh Jackman, is all set to 'reappear' on Broadway in original musical, HOUDINI in the spring of 2010.

I never like comparisons but this show may very will be the next '39 Steps' a potential award winning mega hit that starts off from a (not so) small theatre. In this case it's the Lyric Theatre in south London and the show is a farce called ‘Spyski'. It's produced and performed by Peepolykus (pronounced people-like-us) who have been quite rightly lauded as one of - it not THE UK's most exciting touring theatre companies around. They really go to town with their latest hit packing them in at the Lyric Theatre Hammersmith in rainy London.

The New York Pops led by Vincent Falcone and Eric Stern, celebrates its hometown on Friday, November 7, 2008 at 8 p.m. at Carnegie Hall in a program entitled 'A Love Letter to New York' featuring classic songs about New York City and the world premieres of original songs about the city by composer Kenneth Laub. Clint Holmes headlines the concert with special guests Ashley Brown, Laura Bell Bundy and Linda Hart. The program also includes songs by Stephen Sondheim and Cole Porter. The producers of Hairspray, winner of eight Tony Awards® including Best Musical, have announced that teen idol Ashley Parker Angel will play his final performance as dreamy Link Larkin on Sunday, September 14 at the Neil Simon Theatre after more than a year and half with the musical. Angel played his first performance, and made his Broadway debut, Friday, January 19, 2007.

Broadway's Shoshana Bean announced her solo debut CD, Superhero, will be released on Tuesday December 2nd, 2008. Shoshana Bean is best known for her inspired performance of Elphaba in Wicked, both on Broadway and for several seasons in the musical's National Tour. Her other stage credits include being a member of the Original Broadway cast of the Tony Winning musical Hairspray, the acclaimed Off-Broadway revival of Godspell and The Actors' Fund Benefit concert of Hair.
