EPAC Stages LA CAGE AUX FOLLES, Now thru 8/8

La Cage Aux Folles stormed the Broadway stage in 1983, grabbing nine Tony Award nominations and six wins, including Best Musical, Best Score, and Best Book. Based on Jean Poiret's 1973 French play, La Cage Aux Folles was first brought to the big screen in 1978 and then the 1996 American film The Birdcage starring Robin Williams, Nathan Lane, and Gene Hackman. Ephrata Performing Arts Center will present this French-adapted classic at EPAC's Sharadan Bigler Theatre. The production opens tonight, July 23, 2015, and runs through August 8, 2015.

Peugh. Colossal begins with previews tonight, April 2 with a Pay-What-You-Can performance and runs through Sunday, May 3.

Inspired by disparate, non-narrative sources—from 20th century physics, to 16th century Florentine fashion, to pop culture and new media—the classical dance vocabulary, in her hands, is given a needed shock to its system with speed and fractured lines, abstractions and symmetry countermanded by asymmetry.
