Bristol Riverside Theatre announces that Founding Director Susan D. Atkinson and Artistic Director Keith Baker will be stepping down from their day-to-day roles at the end of the 2019-2020 season. Atkinson is credited with helping to rejuvenate Bristol Borough during her 33 years of service. She led the way in turning an old adult movie theatre into a professional theatre company that has produced five world class productions a year for the past 33 years. Baker steps down after 28 years of service to the theatre. He wore many different hats at BRT, directing, singing and acting in over 120 plays and musicals, and steering its artistic vision. The duo will step down from their roles at the conclusion of the current season. The BRT Board of Directors has launched an extensive search for a new artistic director. Later in the season, look for news of a special event that will honor Atkinson and Baker's service to the organization and the community.

Steve Kroft will retire from 60 MINUTES at the end of his 30th season on America's most-watched news program. The 73-yr-old correspondent is currently the news magazine's longest tenured reporter, having reported nearly 500 60 MINUTES stories – many among the broadcast's biggest moments. Kroft will announce his plans to step down this Sunday, May 19th after the broadcast's 51st season finale. 60 MINUTES will celebrate his 50-year career as a journalist with a special tribute broadcast this September.

Stepping inside the crumbling hallways of Poltimore House, audiences will be taken back to 1919 and immersed in a dark world of drinking, religion and organised crime as twisted demonic forces gradually worm their way into the minds of its inhabitants.

Take for example, Robert Harling's Steel Magnolias - the somewhat nostalgic and Southern-fried seriocomic tale of six women who gather every Saturday morning in a Louisiana beauty shop to have their bouffants teased, their shags trimmed, popular recipes swapped and the lives of their neighbors vivisected in the relative sanctity of a women-only establishment - that has been a part of contemporary literature since its 1987 premiere at off-Broadway's WPA Theatre 'up north' in New York.
