BWW Review: Planned Parenthood Founder Margaret Sanger Becomes a Patron Saint in WHAT EVERY GIRL SHOULD KNOW at triangle productions!
by Krista Garver - Feb 11, 2016

As the lights come up (though only slightly) on Monica Byrne's WHAT EVERY GIRL SHOULD KNOW, we hear the moans of young women discovering their bodies. They record the results of their attempts in a log book. It's awkward and funny, and it sets the stage for this provocative dramedy about four girls coming of sexual age in a Catholic reform school in 1914.

BWW Reviews: 3DT's Eye-Popping TARZAN Musical Swings into the OC Jungle
by Michael L. Quintos - Jul 24, 2015

OC's award-winning regional theater company 3-D Theatricals' latest effort is a remarkably admirable, visually-stunning iteration of Disney's TARZAN® THE MUSICAL that defiantly dazzles and entertains despite the inherent, unavoidable shortcomings of its licensed source material (a problematic book and mostly forgettable score). Thanks to the incredible combined efforts of the show's creative team of brilliant theatrical artisans, its richly striking orchestra, and its top-notch, super-talented ensemble cast (led by Devin Archer and Daebreon Poiema), this ultimately winning local production has certainly earned all its well-deserved cheers. Under the showmanship-style guidance of director Rufus Bonds Jr., 3DT's vividly colorful TARZAN manages to rise (at times literally) high above the original show's weak plotting, Hwang's sometimes stale dialogue, and Collins' run-of-the-mill lyrics... and triumphantly emerge as a wonder-filled, visually-stunning treat for all ages.

Bookworks' IT'S ABOUT BOOKS For January
by BWW News Desk - Jan 31, 2014

Without a doubt Alexandra Fuller is one of my most favorite authors. Her first book, Don't Let's Go to the Dogs Tonight, is a delightfully funny yet poignant backward look at her childhood in Africa. The latest,Cocktail Hour Under the Tree of Forgetfulness, is, at first glance a charming, delightfully funny account of her mother's life as a child when she was growing up in Africa. Fuller never loses her sense of humor and there are numerous chuckle out loud moments where she uses her mother's own words to paint for us an undeniably brilliant picture of just who her mother is and what is important to her.
