Centenary Stage Company's critically acclaimed Young Performers Workshop returns with their annual Winter Festival of Shows running December 9 through December 17.

Westport Country Playhouse announces its fall season Script in Hand playreadings: You Know I Can't Hear You When the Water's Running, a comedy by Robert Anderson, on Monday, November 13, at 7 p.m.; and Sherlock Holmes: The Final Adventure, a thriller by Stephen Dietz, based on the original 1899 play by William Gillette and Arthur Conan Doyle, on Monday, December 11, at 7 p.m.

Centenary Stage Company's critically acclaimed Young Performers Workshop returns with their annual Winter Festival of Shows running December 9 through December 17. These talented young thespians between the ages of 8 and 18 fill the Little Theater with musical theatre favorites including The Pajama Game, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and A Class Act. Young Performers will also be featured in Centenary Stage Company's Family Holiday Spectacular Disney's Newsies The Musical which runs November 24 through December 10 in the Sitnik Theatre of the Lackland Performing Arts Center.

In one momentous year, as infrastructure crumbles, fires rage, and war looms, young engineer George Barnett arrives in the territory of Alaska with "guts and genius," not expecting to fall in love or carry the safety of the miners and the town on his shoulders. Treadwell Gold is written by Rachel Atkins and inspired by the book of historical nonfiction by Sheila Kelly. The play is based on real people and events. Treadwell Gold takes us to a time when science and engineering were looked to with faith that progress was always an option and engineering could always make our lives better. Treadwell Gold runs in limited engagement at Perseverance Theatre, June 22 - July 3.

Previn, who has been called one of America's least easily categorized musicians, began his remarkable career as a Hollywood "wunderkind" and a best-selling jazz pianist. Now 86, Previn has received four Academy Awards for his work in film, 10 Grammy Awards for his recordings (plus one more for his Lifetime Achievement), and he is also an honorary Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire. He's held a series of major conducting posts, including the L.A. Philharmonic and the London Symphony Orchestra, but now exclusively composes. The concert is led by Music Director Carl St.Clair, whose great admiration for the legend shaped this year's ACF to reveal the scope of Previn's prowess as a composer.

The Los Angeles Philharmonic Association presents The Big Picture: Hitchcock!, a thrilling tribute to the groundbreaking films of Alfred Hitchcock, at the Hollywood Bowl on Sunday, August 31, 2014 at 7:30 PM. Today, March 13 - 16, Pontine Theatre presents the final production of it's premiere Cafe-Lyceum Series. This program, FAMILIAR FIELDS: The Community of Sarah Orne Jewett, is based on the life and work of the 19th century South Berwick, Maine author. The presentation explores issues of community as reflected in Jewett's stories, and the ways in which her regional portraits speak about the essential New England character The presentation combines food, friends, and discussion along with excerpts from Pontine's original adaptation of Jewett's The Country of the Pointed Firs, and Dunnet Landing Stories.
