Flashdance The Musical, based on the Paramount Pictures film (screenplay by Tom Hedley and Joe Eszterhas, story by Tom Hedley), is produced in the West End by Christopher Malcolm, David Ian, The Baruch Viertel Routh Frankel Group, and Transamerica.

Legendary singer-songwriter Barry Manilow's non-profit organization, the Manilow Music Project, will put tens of thousands of dollars of musical instruments into the hands of fifteen Clark County School District middle schools and high schools at a celebratory delivery and distribution event on Thursday, October 7th, 2010 at Valley High School in Clark County, Nevada. Reinvigorating the school system's music program at a critical time of need, and credited with putting instruments in the hands of 600 students who would otherwise be unable to participate; this is the single largest donation of its kind in Clark County history for a music program.

According to a report by Variety, Broadway director Kenny Leon is set to direct the film version of the Jennifer Thompson-Cannino's 'Picking Cotton', entitled 'Cotton'. Adapted by Todd Komarnicki, the film is about a friendship that develops between a woman and her falsely identified rapist.

Grease returned to London on 25 July 2007 (with a press night on 8th August) and since its premiere the feel-good audience favourite has played over 1,300 performances and has been seen by over 1¼million theatregoers at the Piccadilly Theatre, where it is the longest running show in the venue's history. Grease will close on 30 April 2011 after nearly four electrifyin' years in the West End and will immediately begin a national tour opening at the Edinburgh Playhouse on 6 May 2011. Full tour schedule and casting will be announced.

Multiple Grammy-Award winner and legendary music producer, Clive Davis, attended the 7:30 p.m. performance of Barry Manilow last night at Paris Las Vegas. Following the show, Davis joined Manilow backstage for photos.

Elaine Paige, the renowned British musical stage star, recording artist and actress who recently celebrated her 40th anniversary on stage, is in New York City recording a new "Duets" album for Warner Bros Records that is being produced by the legendary Phil Ramone. Among the internationally renowned recording artists participating in the venture are (in alphabetical order): Paul Anka, John Barryman, Michael Bolton, Kenny G, Olivia Newton John, Barry Manilow, Johnny Mathis, Billy Ocean, Le Ann Rimes, Jon Secada, Neil Sedaka and Dionne Warwick.
