Yesterday Artistic Director Mark Clements announced Milwaukee Repertory Theater's 2014/15 Season. 'Next season will offer strong stories that are substantive pieces of theater that are both enlightening and entertaining,' said Clements. 'The season includes two exciting world premieres, after all the terrible things I do and Five Presidents. We will also continue the tradition that I started upon my arrival by including a musical on our main stage - the first production in the Quadracci Powerhouse will be the award-winning musical, The Color Purple. Audiences responded so enthusiastically to last year's production of Ragtime, I believe they are in for another treat with The Color Purple.'

Journey back in time with the Yardley Players as they present 'Meet Me in St. Louis' at Mercer County Community College's (MCCC) Kelsey Theatre. Dates and show times for this charming musical are Fridays, tonight, July 18 and July 25 at 8 p.m.; Saturdays, July 19 and 26 at 8 p.m.; and Sundays, July 20 and 27 at 2 p.m. Kelsey Theatre is located on the college's West Windsor campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road. Principal casting has been announced for the upcoming world premiere production of AN AMERICAN IN PARIS. The cast will include Robert Fairchild as Jerry Mulligan, Leanne Cope as Lise Dassin, Veanne Cox as Madame Baurel, Jill Paice as Milo Davenport, Brandon Uranowitz as Adam Hochberg, and Max Von Essen as Henri Baurel.

The Palm Springs Gay Men's Chorus (PSGMC) will present Gala 15 and the Palm Springs premiere of Emmy Award winning actor/comedian/stage performer Leslie Jordan's new show titled 'Show Pony' at The Hard Rock Hotel tonight, May 17 at 6:30p.m. I had the chance to sit chat with the hilarious and engaging Mr. Jordan as he prepares for his Palm Springs Premiere - here are a few excerpts from that interview...

We've been reporting on the buzz since January, but now Hugh Jackman is making Broadway fan's May dreams come true! It's just been officially announced that Sonia Friedman Productions will present the Royal Court Theatre production of THE RIVER, a new play by Jez Butterworth, starring Hugh Jackman, Laura Donnelly and Cush Jumbo, and directed by Ian Rickson.

On opening night, when Corey Mach made his first appearance on stage in 'Flashdance The Musical,' the audience, after being prepped about his entrance by Gina Vernaci, Senior Vice President of Theater Operations, greeted him with a lengthy ovation. During the curtain call, the audience exploded in vocal and physical adoration when Mach came on stage. Then, when the 2006 Strongsville High School and 2010 Baldwin-Wallace alum put on an Indian's baseball cap, the Palace Theatre literally shook with unbridled excitement. Yes, this was a glorious 'welcome home Corey' celebration.

The Old Vic today announced its programme for Summer/Autumn 2014. The CQS Space, The Old Vic in the round, will be home to the whole season of productions, continuing after Other Desert Cities which opens this month. The plays will be performed in the round, a transformation of The Old Vic's auditorium first seen for the award-winning 2008 production of The Norman Conquests. The season of productions is supported for the fourth consecutive year by Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

The world premiere production of the brand new musical comedy Bullets Over Broadway, written by Woody Allen and based on the screenplay by Allen and Douglas McGrath for the 1994 film, will begin preview performances tomorrow, March 11 and officially open Thursday, April 10, 2014 at The St. James Theatre (246 West 44th Street). The new musical will be directed and choreographed by five-time Tony Award winner Susan Stroman. Victory Gardens Theater continues its season with the World Premiere of The Gospel of Lovingkindness by Victory Gardens Ensemble Playwright Marcus Gardley, directed by Artistic Director Chay Yew. The Gospel of Lovingkindness runs February 28 - March 30, 2014 at Victory Gardens Theater, 2433 N. Lincoln Avenue.
