PULP SHAKESPEARE, a "Best of Fest" winner at the 2011 Hollywood Fringe Fest, will receive its New York premiere in the 2012 New York International Fringe Festival.

Tonight, May 21, 2012 marks the third production of BC Beat at Cielo (18 Little West 12thStreet). Produced by Jennifer Jancuska and The BringAbout Productions, BC Beat offers the Broadway and dance communities another unique and exciting way to experience dance. Focused on storytelling and set in a club with the best sound system in NYC, BC Beat will feature new work by eight highly anticipated choreographers from genres including musical theatre, contemporary, jazz and tap. Smack in the middle of the club, with the audience surrounding the sunken stage and close enough to touch the dancers, choreographers will present their unique way of storytelling and vision for Broadway's future.

The Old Globe's 2012-13 Season will feature the World Premieres of two new musicals: Allegiance - A New American Musical by Jay Kuo and Lorenzo Thione and A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder by Robert L. Freedman and Steven Lutvak. The season also includes George Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion in celebration of the classic play's 100th anniversary and the World Premiere of a new adaptation of Henrik Ibsen's A Doll's House by Anne-Charlotte Hanes Harvey and Kirsten Brandt. Two recent Broadway hits will make their San Diego debuts at the Globe: David Lindsay-Abaire's Good People and Jon Robin Baitz's Other Desert Cities. Rounding out the season are the West Coast Premiere of Bekah Brunstetter's Be a Good Little Widow and the Southern California Premiere of Tarell Alvin McCraney's The Brothers Size.

The Pearl Theatre Company today announced that actors Joey Parsons and Wayne T. Carr have joined the Pearl's Resident Acting Company.

CBS Radio's popular weekly entertainment segment "A Closer Look at Broadway," hosted by Jim Taylor, currently features George Morfogen and Jim Stanek, who recently joined FREUD'S LAST SESSION at New World Stages as Sigmund Freud and C. S. Lewis respectively. FREUD'S LAST SESSION is the winner of the 2011 Off-Broadway Alliance Award for Best Play and additional productions are already set to open into 2013 in major markets across the nation and around the world. The Pearl Theatre Company's production of Eugene O'Neill's A MOON FOR THE MISBEGOTTEN plays its final performance tonight, April 15, at New York City Center Stage II. This masterpiece, written in the twilight of O'Neill's illustrious career, follows a moonlight encounter between two lonely souls. The production was directed by J.R. Sullivan.

Joining Danny DeVito and Richard Griffiths as the ageing vaudevillian team Willie Clark and Al Lewis in Neil Simon's award-winning comedy The Sunshine Boys are Rebecca Blackstone (Miss MacKintosh), Nick Blakeley (Eddie), Peter Cadden (Voice of TV Director), Johnnie Fiori (Registered Nurse), Adam Levy (Ben Silverman) and William Maxwell (Patient).

Michael Attenborough will direct Eduardo de Filippo's Filumena in a new English version by Tanya Ronder running at the Almeida from 15 March - 12 May 2012, with press night on 22 March at 7pm. Designs are by Robert Jones, with lighting by Tim Mitchell and sound by John Leonard. Filumena is sponsored by Pinsent Masons.

Utilizing two different casts to tell a story spanning four decades, Triad Stage and NewBridge Bank present the entire New Music trilogy by Reynolds Price, directed by Preston Lane, in a two part extended run-Part I, comprised of the plays, August Snow and Night Dance, and Part II, the final play in the series, Better Days-produced together for only the second time since they were written.

Burning Coal Theatre Company, a small professional theatre in Raleigh, North Carolina has announced its 2011-2012 main stage season. It will begin with the riveting music and dance filled Enron by Lucy Prebble, Sept. 8-25, 2011; followed by Shakespeare's Henry V (on Trapeze), Dec. 1-18, 2011; then Man of La Mancha by Darion, Leigh and Wasserman, Feb. 2-19, 2012; and wrapping up with Jude the Obscure, Pts. 1 & 2, a new musical by Ian Finley, Jerome Davis and Bruce Benedict, in repertory, April 12-May 5, 2012.

Today on Backstage with Richard Ridge, we bring you Richard in conversation with international songbird Lea Salonga, best known for originating the role of Kim in the West End production of Miss Saigon and bringing it to Broadway, winning the Tony, Olivier and many other awards. She was the first Asian to play Eponine in Les Misérables on Broadway, returned to the show in 2007 as Fantine and reprised the role for the sold-out 25th anniversary concert at London's O2 Arena.

The Shakespeare Theatre Company continues its 2011-2012 Season with the return of Ethan McSweeny (The Merchant of Venice, The Persians, Ion, Major Barbara) directing Shakespeare's romantic comedy Much Ado About Nothing.
