On September 19th 2017, opening night of a three-week engagement by Twyla Tharp Dance at the Joyce Theater, a program insert listed an addition to the roster previously slated for the evening.

Co-star Chelsea Williams, who plays Sandy to Starkenberg's Danny, continues the thought: 'Neil and I have had conversations about how we could do this show for a really long time. It is so much fun, and I think that must be obvious to the audience. The energy is so palpable that it is a special joy to work that hard every night. Everyone is having the time of his life!' These three actors together with principals Gerrianne Perez (Rizzo), Charis Leos (Miss Lynch), Costume Designer Travis M. Grant, and MSMT Artistic Director Curt Dale Clark all joined BWW's Maine editor Carla Maria Verdino-Sullwold for the third panel discussion in the theatre's Peek Behind the Curtain series held each summer at Curtis Memorial Library. In an especially lively and far-ranging conversation that highlighted not only the challenges but also the camaraderie of this ensemble, the panel and capacity audience explored the history, characters, and production process for MSMT's summer mega hit.

Houston Grand Opera (HGO) marks the sixth decade of making the art of opera accessible to all audiences at Miller Outdoor Theatre with two free, fully staged performances of Donizetti's The Elixir of Love on May 19 and 20, starting at 8 p.m. A magic elixir gives a love-struck young man the extra dose of confidence he needs to thwart a rival and win the woman of his dreams, but the elixir creates just as many problems as it solves. The bright, sunny production is set on the Amalfi Coast in the 1950s-complete with Vespas and a hot air balloon. With beautiful melodies and a hilarious story, it's the perfect entry point to the world of opera for the young and the young-at-heart.   

Birmingham Hippodrome is thrilled to announce that global star Jimmy Osmond* (The Osmonds, I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here) will visit Birmingham Hippodrome in the UK Tour of Grease from 29 May - 3 June.

Geva Theatre Center presents the world premiere of Other Than Honorable by Jamie Pachino. Other Than Honorable is directed by Kimberly Senior and will be performed in the Wilson Stage from April 25 - May 21.

Grease is the word! The hit 70s musical returns in 2017 for a UK tour, opening in Manchester on 10 March 2017. Casting for the tour includes Tom Parker (The Wanted) who makes his musical theatre debut playing Danny Zuko, Danielle Hope (Over the Rainbow winner) who plays Sandy, and Louisa Lytton (Strictly Come Dancing, EastEnders) who plays Rizzo.

???????Grease is the word! Glaswegian star Gary Lamont (River City) joins the cast of Grease for two weeks only to play the role of Teen Angel. Gary will take on the role during the tour's dates at the King's Theatre, Glasgow, 9-20 May 2017.
