A rollicking, family-friendly physical theater mashup of the Rip van Winkle story and tales of the Yukon Gold Rush, featuring some of Seattle’s most celebrated actors! Ever feel like you blinked, and the world completely changed? Meet Randall Irving Parson, or Rip for short, who, in 1897, pursues his gold rush dream only to have a ghostly encounter that leaves him to fall asleep in a snow bank – and stay frozen for over a century. With global warming afoot, Rip finally thaws out and finds himself in a world that staggers the imagination. While he struggles to catch up with today’s rapid pace, plenty of others are on his trail! This knockabout romp combines love, loss, environmental threats, bad guys, hijinks, and even a puppet (or two) in a one-of-a kind whirlwind adventure—perfect for all ages!
Global Works is at 12th Ave Arts 1620 12th Ave, Seattle.
