Theater Schmeater, in association with ACT – A Contemporary Theatre's Central Heating Lab, is pleased to celebrate our 20th anniversary season with the return of our popular presentation of The Twilight Zone: Live! opening on Friday April 6 in A Contemporary Theatre's  Bullitt Cabaret space.

The Twilight Zone: Live! features three episodes of the iconic television show created by that mid 20th century master of 22 minute storytelling, Rod Serling.  Sometimes macabre, sometimes cautionary, always ironic, Serling and his small band of like minded writers, coupled with some of the best actors and directors of his time, collaborated to spin tales that still reverberate down the decades.  The Twilight Zone: Live! gives the audience a chance to relive these Cold War era tales with the same intensity and immediacy of a candle-lit fable told over Saltines and bottled water in a sweltering fallout shelter.

The Twilight Zone: Live! is directed by Tim Moore one of the Founding Artists of Theater Schmeater, this is the fourth consecutive year that Mr. Moore has crafted The Twilight Zone: Live! production.

Cast:  Libby Barnard, Lisa Branham, Daniel Christensen, Matt Fulbright, Heather Gautschi, Chris Macdonald, Buddy Mahoney, Carter Rodriquez, John Q. Smith, and James Weidman.

The Twilight Zone: Live! will feature three episodes from one of the most consistently creative series from the Golden Age of Television:  The Howling Man, The Jeopardy Room and A Penny For Your Thoughts.

The Howling Man (episode 41) by Charles Beaumont and directed by Douglas Heyes was originally aired on November 4, 1960.  An American traveling in Europe stumbles upon a sect that has imprisoned a man who claims total innocence.  Justice and necessity battle in this cautionary tale suggesting that perception may not equal reality.

The Jeopardy Room (episode 149) by Rob Serling and directed by Richard Donnor, originally aired on April 17, 1964.  A taut Cold War parable about a defecting Soviet Bloc agent who is trapped in his own hotel room by his former handlers, The Jeopardy Room explores the arrogance of state power when confronted with the determined resolution of an individual.

A Penny For Your Thoughts (episode 52) by George Clayton Johnson and directed by James Sheldon originally aired on February 3, 1961.  A mild mannered banker tosses a coin that lands on edge and is suddenly able to read other peoples thoughts.  Ambition, lust and a little larceny mingle in this story where love and fate are as precarious as a balancEd Penny.

Scenic and lighting design will be by Dave Baldwin, with costume design by Angela Flowers.  Property design is by Jodi Sauerbier, with sound design by Tim Moore.  Amy "Red" Law is the stage manager.
The Twilight Zone: Live! opens on Friday April 6 at 8:30 p.m. and runs on Thursdays Fridays and Saturdays through April 28.  All performances are at the Bullitt Cabaret Theater, at ACT, 700 Union St, Seattle.  Tickets are $18 in advance, $15 for students and seniors.  At the door tickets are $23, and $18 for students and seniors.  All tickets are available through the ACT Box Office (206-292-7676) or online at acttheatre.org.  For more information about The Twilight Zone: Live! or Theater Schmeater visit www.schmeater.org.  Ticket prices are subject to change.
