SPT'S Youth Program Presents Mary Zimmerman's METAMORPHOSES, Now thru 3/8

Seattle Public Theater's (SPT) Youth Program presents Mary Zimmerman's humorous and insightful modern take on the classical mythology of Ovid, Metamorphoses.

Five [free] performances: Tonight, February 28 @ 7pm, Saturday, March 1 @ 7pm, Sunday, March 2 @ 2pm, Friday, March 7 @ 7pm, and Saturday, March 8 @ 7pm. Admission to all youth performances are free to the community. Donations are encouraged to support SPT's Theater Education Program and to offer student tuition assistance.

Prepare to be transformed. Tony Award-winning Mary Zimmerman's smash hit Metamorphoses is a play of such grace and beauty that the memory of it lingers long after the lights have gone down. Written to be performed in a pool of water, the staging of SPT's Youth Program production makes ingenious use of all theatrical elements to conjure the force of Ovid's myths into gorgeous imagery, provocative moments, and breathtaking storytelling. Experience magic and enchantment, bawdy humor and deep sincerity, told in a provocative mix of both contemporary and classic styles.

Directed by Shana Bestock, Metamorphoses features the acting talents of Annika Prichard, Chloe Swedberg, Gabriel Klein, Inga Phlegar, Ingamar Christophersen, Isabelle Moore, Jake Gordon, Karinna Gerhardt, Leo Campbell-Klein, Luc Mennet, Nate Mascis, Olivia Sterne, Sarah Rowley, and Tess Sevetson with the additional talents of Gabe Airth (Stage Manager), Katherine Draves (Lighting Design), Noah Rose (Sound Design).

Due to some mature content, Metamorphoses is recommended for audiences ages 14 and up.
