MAMMA MIA! Opens This Month At Seattle Musical Theatre

By:

Escape to a small imaginary Greek island this Spring and soak up the legendary music of ABBA in all its glory! Seattle Musical Theatre presents Mamma Mia! This Award-winning musical ran on Broadway for over 14 years and earned its place as the longest running jukebox musical. "Dancing Queen", "Super Trouper," "SOS" and "Take a Chance on Me" are just a few of the iconic songs that work to weave together this charming tale of what it means to be a family.

Sophie, the bride-to-be, wants her real father to walk her down the aisle at her dream wedding. Sophie takes matters into her own hands because her mother Donna won't talk about her past. The little Greek Island starts to feel crowded for Donna; but her BFFs Rosie and Tanya, as well as all three of Sophie's possible fathers help redefine the 'perfect family wedding.'

Director Hattie Claire Andres brings the story of Sophie's dream wedding to life. Andres elaborates, "This musical presents a unique opportunity to explore the generational differences in approaching relationships and expressing female independence. I love that we can root our story in real themes while simultaneously embracing the magical escapism fueled by ABBA's timeless music."

For 13 performances a talented local cast brings the timeless songs, charming story and rousing dance numbers to the stage. Director Hattie Claire Andres is joined by choreographer Alex Crozier, music director Steven Tran, conductor Elisa Money, scenic designer Kuo-Hao Lo, costume designer Michael Notestine, and lighting designer Kenrick Fischer. Darian Clogston is the stage manager.

This exciting Seattle Musical Theatre Mamma Mia! production features Lisa Mandelkorn (Donna), Alex Sturtevant (Sophie), Kristie Werner (Rosie), Isis Phoenix (Tanya), Jeff Church (Sam), Mike Cimino (Bill) Gary Chambers (Harry), Christian Quinto (Sky), Cass Neumann (Ali), Lia Lee (Lisa), Aaron Parisi (Pepper), and John Han (Eddie). Ensemble includes: Alex Becker, Grayce Crick, Francesca Curry-Edwards, Viviana Garza, Sapphire Goetz, Julia Hart, Kelsey Jones, Hannah Mooney, Barrett Penrod, Adrian Renon, Fathiya Ritter, Spencer Stromberg, Sage Suzerris, and Patrick Tolden.
