A New Lease for Seattle's Showtunes! Theatre Company
Since its inception in 2000, Showtunes! the Seattle-based theatre company has dedicated itself to producing lesser-known musicals, staging such productions as '110 in the Shade' and 'Fiorello!'; in the process earning itself a reputation for tackling works that are often neglected by theatre companies.
However, the theatre company has recently been struggling to secure funding for its productions and they have had a difficult time filling the theatre's seats. Now, the theatre company is receiving a new lease, a new venue and brand new artistic direction. Moreover, Showtunes! can now dedicate itself to planning more Broadway classics, as reported by the California Chronicle.
