Spraywatch: A Beautiful Rescue is a new original musical comedy written, composed, and directed by Hywel Evans, imagining what would happen if an iconic 90s American lifeguard was transported from the beaches of Santa Monica to a fictional grey English coastal town. With a soundtrack inspired by 80s and 90s pop rock, the show follows her attempt to whip the local lifeguards into shape and top the global beach rankings, while confronting darker themes of beauty, ambition, identity, and belonging. The cast includes Izabella Webb as The Lifeguard, alongside Natalie Hayes, Abbie Ashall, Jamie Knapper, and Ant McGinley. The show is presented by Low Fat Productions, a Manchester-based theatre company.
