EDINBURGH 2014 - BWW Reviews: BIANCO, No Fit State Big Top, August 1 2014
Upon entry to the big top the audience is encouraged to get involved as this is a "stand up and move around" performance. The audience is then ushered around the big top throughout, in order for seamless set changes to take place and to ensure everyone has an excellent view.
Bianco has everything you would expect to see at a circus: trapeze; juggling; fire eating and shirtless men on tightropes. While this is an undeniable sexy circus it remains family friendly and the dozens of children in the audience are captivated throughout.
The music is provided by a live band which adds something very special to the performance. The use of lighting in the tent is also spectacular.
The acrobatics are incredible and although some sections require performers to wear a harness, a lot of them don't and there is a real sense of danger. There were a few serious heart in mouth moments.
Although this is an all ages show and the children present seemed to really enjoy themselves, it was the delighted expressions on all the adults faces that really showed what a special performance this was. I can't describe Bianco as anything other than magical.
Bianco runs at the No Fit State big top until August 25th.
