Florida Studio Theatre Announces Full Cast For A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE AND MURDER

Florida Studio Theatre (FST) opens its 45th Winter Mainstage Season with the four-time Tony Award-winning musical, A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder. Called 'A true tour de force' by The New York Times, A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder follows Monty Navarro, a lowly born Englishman who suddenly discovers he is eighth in succession to become the Earl of Highurst, and is determined to gain the title...by any means necessary. This critically-acclaimed, knock 'em dead musical, with Book and Lyrics by Robert L. Freedman and Music and Lyrics by Steve Lutvak, will run starting November 7 in FST's Gompertz Theatre.

Cabaret is a 1966 musical with music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb, and book by Joe Masteroff. The original Broadway production became such a hit it inspired several productions and revivals in New York and premiered in London's West End in 1968. Cabaret, the film, was produced in 1972, directed by Bob Fosse, and starred Liza Minnelli, Michael York, and Joel Grey. The film is particularly known for Liza Minnelli's rendition of 'Cabaret', a song she would come to sing in concert halls worldwide. It became her trademark.

Florida Studio Theatre's 2018-19 Children's Theatre Series continues with Deck the Halls!:Home for the Holidays, a musical celebration of everything that makes the holidays in Sarasota special. Families can escape the craziness of the holidays and go on a musical adventure with six magical elves who want to celebrate Christmas and Hanukkah in true Floridian manner. Performances of Deck the Halls! take place on Saturdays and select Sundays, starting November 24 in FST's Bowne's Lab Theatre. Deck the Halls! is the second show of a four-play subscription series. Gulf Coast Community Foundation Awards Major Grant To Embracing Our Differences

Gulf Coast Community Foundation recently awarded Embracing Our Differences a $40,000 Arts Appreciation grant, which offers unrestricted funding to area arts organizations in support of their artistic mission. According to Sarah Wertheimer, Embracing Our Differences' executive director, the grant will help fund the organization's 2019 outdoor exhibition celebrating diversity, which runs January 19 to March 15 in Bayfront Park in downtown Sarasota. The grant will also be directed to empower EOD's annual educational outreach programs and initiatives.
