Michael Bolton: The Symphony Sessions Comes To Van Wezel
From "When a Man Loves a Woman" to "How Am I Supposed to Live Without You" and more, Michael Bolton's time, love and tenderness has created the soundtrack of our lives. On Wednesday, February 13 at 8 p.m., join the Grammy Award-winner at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall for an evening of timeless hits and a musical journey through pop, rock, soul, standards and even classical, specially arranged for symphony orchestra.
In celebration of his 50th anniversary in the music industry, Michael is releasing a collection of his favorite Greatest Hits newly arranged and recorded with a symphony orchestra. A Symphony of Hits comes out February 8th just in time for Valentine's Day, and Michael will be performing these new arrangements with symphony players at the Van Wezel.
Alongside the new album, Michael is releasing a unique fragrance collection called Time Love & Tenderness, after his eponymous album and hit single.
Michael Bolton has sold over 65 million records, seeing nine studio albums rank in the top ten, with nine #1 singles. In recognition of his artistic achievements, Michael won two Grammys for Best Pop Male Vocal Performance (nominated four times), six American Music Awards and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. A diverse and prolific songwriter, Bolton has earned over 24 BMI & ASCAP Awards, including Songwriter of the Year. He is one of the very few artists to have co-written with the legendary Bob Dylan, resulting in the mega hit, "Steel Bars."
Michael became an online viral sensation through his collaboration with Andy Samberg and The Lonely Island in the Saturday Night Live music video "Jack Sparrow" which is nearing 200 Million YouTube views. Bolton's comedic appearances span several episodes of CBS's hit series Two and a Half Men, the hit Fox network show Glee, ABC's hit comedy Fresh off the Boat and HBO's hit series Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. The Netflix Michael Bolton's Big Sexy Valentine's Day Special has become a holiday favorite. His songs and performances have been featured in numerous television and film soundtracks, including the Oscar-nominated theme song "Go the Distance" from Walt Disney's blockbuster animated film Hercules and the Russell Crowe film Fathers & Daughters.
