The show that you see on stage is only one part of the show going on.  Behind the scenes there are people who help create the sets, move the props, run the lights, sew the costumes and much, much more.  If you enjoy the designs and the transitions in some of your favorite shows then you might want to take a chance to support these unsung heroes of the theatre world in a different setting.

STAGEHOANDS: A GALLERY ART SHOWING is a presentation of the works of artists that usually use their skills to support others art.  You many not think of it as art, but the carpenters, electricians, sound engineers, scenic painters, seamstresses and other stagehands do things everyday that take great skill to accomplish.  The ability to create something that looks appropriately aged, to sew a dress that is beautiful and historically accurate, to design lighting to help emphasize the music and the performance on stage are all artistic endeavors.  This showing looks to bring their personal artistic accomplishments to the Gallery Space in the lobby of the Lyceum theatre in Horton Plaza.

If you want to help these artists get their time in the spotlight then please go to their website here.  They only have a limited time to get the funding they need in order to bring their unique exhibit to life!  Your contributions will go towards the installation of the art show, help support marketing efforts and ensuring that these theatre artists get their own time in front of an audience!
