Kentwood Players Closes ANNIE 12/11

By:

Kentwood Players welcomes the 2010 holiday season with the musical "Annie" based on the Tribune Media Services comic strip "Little Orphan Annie" with music by Charles Strouse, lyrics by Martin Charnin, and book by Thomas Meehan. "Annie" will sing and dance its way onto the Westchester Playhouse stage from Friday, November 5 to Saturday, December 11, 2010 with performances on Friday and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 2pm. Westchester Playhouse located two blocks west of the San Diego Freeway and two blocks north of Manchester at 8301 Hindry Avenue in Westchester , CA 90045 .

The production is directed by Susan Goldman Weisbarth, produced by Shirley Hatton, with musical direction by Bill Wolfe and choreography by Victoria Miller. The show is produced with Special Permission from Music Theatre International.

This classic rags-to-riches story is as timeless today as it was when it was originally produced on Broadway in 1977. Set during the great depression, "Annie" is the story of a spunky, red-headed orphan trying to find the parents who seemingly gave her up for adoption. Along the way she meets a multitude of memorable characters and works her way into even the most unsuspecting hearts. This holiday musical with well known songs such as "Tomorrow," "It's a Hard Knock Life" and "Little Girls" is perfect for the entire family and proves "You're Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile!"

Featured in the cast are Greg Abbott, Pamela Bassett, Margie Bates, Dana Belben, Juliette Boland, Makenzie Browning, Kiah Candell-Vastine, MarLee Candell, Harold Dershimer, Rachel Evans, Martin Feldman, Emma Hatton, Shirley Hatton, Alexa Hodzic, Steve Holland, Clara Mulligan, Kim Peterson, Natalie Peterson, Ron Peterson, Jennifer Richardson, Robyn Rothstein, Valerie Ruel, Jessica Stone, Katie Sullivan, Jack Winnick, Julia May Wong with Rocky Miller as "Daddy Warbucks," Francesca Farina as "Annie" and Brusier as "Sandy."
