Coronado Playhouse Presents PAGEANT THE MUSICAL, Now thru 5/12
The beauty "queens" in Coronado Playhouse's Pageant the Musical, have it all. And as emcee Frankie Cavalier puts it, they also have "something extra" in this production of the farcical Off-Broadway hit that's a send up of Beauty Pageants. The production runs tonight, April 5-May 12, 2013.
Watch as the six contestants compete in an extravaganza of evening gowns, bathing suits, and not to be missed talent, while judges from our audience decide who will be crowned Miss Glamouresse. "Judges" for each performance come from the audience; and a different winner is chosen each night, assuring suspense and spontaneous entertainment."Pageant", book and lyrics by Bill Russell and Frank Kelly and music by Albert Evans, was first presented by Jonathan Scharer, in association with Chip Quigley at the Blue Angel in New York City on May 2, 1991. It was conceived, directed, and choreographed by Robert Longbottom. Pageant is directed and choreographed by Jennie Gray Connard.
The show runs Thursdays - Saturdays @ 8pm and Sundays @ 2pm. Doors open one hour prior to curtain for this production only: Cocktails: 7pm (1pm Sunday); Backstage Tour: 7:30-745pm (1:30-1:45 Sunday); Show: 8pm (2pm Sunday).
Tickets: $20-28 general admission; Active Military / Senior / Student discounts. Groups are welcome. Excellent rates available.
