Ana Gasteyer Comes to Poway OnStage, Saturday, 11/4 ImageAna Gasteyer comes to Poway OnStage for a one-night-only performance of her cabaret act Saturday, November 4, 2017. Ms. Gasteyer is a true Renaissance woman, first starring in six seasons of Saturday Night Live then going on to create the role of Elphaba for Chicago's resident production of Wicked.

With numerous TV and movie credits to her name, Gasteyer now puts her comedic chops and voice to use in this one-of-a-kind cabaret act featuring music, comedy and stories. She sings jazz standards, Broadway showstoppers and songs from her album "I'm Hip" that blend her unique world view and singing skills in a style reminiscent of 1940s jazz. Of the album Gasteyer says "It's not a comedy album overtly, but it's fun, very musical, we've recorded it with a huge band, so I can kind of let it rip."

"If you only know Ana Gasteyer from Saturday Night Live's Public Radio skits about dubious holiday treats, you only know part of the story" says Michael Rennie President and CEO of Poway OnStage. "Ms. Gasteyer's career has encompassed film, television, music and theatre. Her cabaret show puts all her talents on display - her impeccable comedic timing, her elegant stage presence and her powerful voice. Our Poway OnStage audience will get to see it all in this unique and intimate show."

"If you're wondering what it means to be hip nowadays, comedian and singer Ana Gasteyer has an answer. Chirping a revised, up-to-the-minute version of the jazz standard 'I'm Hip' at the Café Carlye on Tuesday evening, she urged fans to follow her on Instagram, and boasted of wearing locally sourced vegan clogs, tweeting from her bike, drawing zombie cartoons and collecting her own eggs from my prize heirloom hens." -The New York Times
