Tickets for each of the six remaining shows in Pioneer Theatre Company's 2009-2010 Season, including the Utah premiere of the stage version of everyone's favorite holiday comedy "A Christmas Story" and the tap-dancing musical extravaganza "42nd Street," will go on sale Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at 10:00 a.m.

Patrons may also purchase tickets to the rest of the 2009-2010 Season. The season includes:

"Is He Dead?" a recently rediscovered play by Mark Twain running October 30 - November 14, 2009

"A Christmas Story," which chronicles Ralphie's legendary quest for a Red Ryder BB gun, running December 4 - December 19, 2009

The world premiere of a new drama called "Touch(ed)," running January 8 - January 23, 2010

The classic courtroom drama "Twelve Angry Men," running February 12 - February 27, 2010

What has been called The Great American Play by critics since its premiere in 1938: "Our Town" by Thornton Wilder, March 12 - March 27, 2010.

The spectacular season finale "42nd Street" runs from April 23 - May 8, 2010.

"Before October 14th, the only way to get tickets to these shows was by purchasing season tickets," notes PTC Managing Director Chris Lino. "The good news for us is that nearly 9,000 patrons did purchase season tickets - but that means that over half of our tickets for all performances are already gone. People who want seats for '42nd Street,' 'A Christmas Story,' or any of our remaining shows should order as soon as possible."

Patrons can purchase tickets through the Pioneer Theatre Box Office located in the Roy W. and Elizabeth E. Simmons Pioneer Memorial Theatre, at 300 South and 1400 East on the University of Utah Campus, by calling 801-581-6961, or through the PTC website at www.pioneertheatre.org.

The box office hours are 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and Monday through Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. during the run of a show.

Individual ticket prices range from $22.00 to $49.00; half-priced tickets for children in grades K-12 for all Monday and Tuesday performances may also be purchased. Group discounts are available.
