West Sacramento Community Theater Calls For Scripts For 2009 Christmas Program

By:

West Sacramento Community Theater is looking for one or more scripts for their 2009 Christmas program. This program will be family-oriented. Greater consideration will be given to scripts that concentrate on children. Scripts that demonstrate the positive influence of cultural diversity in holiday traditions will also be given favorable consideration.

They will consider two-act plays (90 to 100 minutes in length), one-act plays (20-40 minutes), and monologues/dialogues (5-10 minutes in length). Greater consideration will be given to two-act and one-act submissions that have large casts (8-15 speaking parts). Greater consideration will also be given to scripts having a significant number of parts for children (age 5-12 years).

For two-act and one-act scripts please submit a synopsis of the story (not to exceed 100 words), ten consecutive pages of the script, and a biography of the playwright (not to exceed one page). Scripts for monologues/dialogues should be submitted in their entirety together with a biography of the playwright (not to exceed one page). Please include the playwright's name, address, telephone number(s) and email address in the biography.

Hard copies of submissions must be received by August 28, 2009 and may be sent to West Sacramento Community Theater, P.O. Box 2000, West Sacramento, CA 95691. Electronic submissions will also be accepted if the bibliography, synopsis, and sample pages are sent as attachments to an email and the attachments are in Adobe .pdf format. Electronic submissions must be received by 5:00 p.m. on August 28, 2009 and may be sent to: wsct@hotmail.com. Materials submitted will not be returned.  For more information on West Sacramento Community Theater, visit http://www.westsactheater.com/about.cfm.
