The cast and crew of THE NEW Mel Brooks MUSICAL YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN have arrived in Providence, and are currently in rehearsals at the Providence Performing Arts Center.

As the company is busy rehearsing for opening night, WPRI Channel 12 Eyewitness News Anchor Karen Adams takes viewers along for a behind the scenes look at this fantastic musical. Meet the all star cast and hear from the acclaimed comedic genius Mel Brooks, composer, lyricist, and writer of the book for THE NEW Mel Brooks MUSICAL YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, in Young Frankenstein - the PPAC Premiere, a special presentation - broadcast in High Definition on Saturday, September 26 at 7:30P on WPRI 12.

"Since 1999, WPRI 12 and FOX Providence have been proud to be the official media partners of the Providence Performing Arts Center," said Jay Howell, President and General Manager of WPRI/WNAC TV. "We're honored to have such a true civic treasure right in our own backyard. Every season brings an exciting array of shows, and for the second year in a row, PPAC is launching the U.S. tour of another major production. Our partnership allows us to show viewers a unique, behind the scenes look at what it takes to put on such an amazing theatrical experience."

THE NEW Mel Brooks MUSICAL YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN is directed and choreographed by Susan Stroman. The cast features Roger Bart as Dr. Frederick Frankenstein, Shuler Hensley as The Monster, Cory English as Igor, Tony Award nominee Brad Oscar as Inspector Kemp/ Blind Hermit, Beth Curry as Elizabeth, Joanna Glushak as Frau Blucher, and Anne Horak as Inga. Bart and Hensley are the original stars of the Broadway production of THE NEW Mel Brooks MUSICAL YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN; Cory English also performed in the Broadway production.

Performance dates for THE NEW Mel Brooks MUSICAL YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN are Tuesday, September 29 at 7P; Wednesday, September 30 and Thursday, October 1 at 7:30P; Friday, October 2 at 8P; Saturday, October 3 at 2P & 8P; and Sunday, October 4 at 1P & 6:30P. Ticket prices range from $48 to $78 and include a $3 per ticket restoration charge. Patrons can still purchase tickets at the PPAC Box Office, located at 220 Weybosset Street in downtown Providence, Monday through Friday, 10A to 5P; Saturday 10A to 2P; and through curtain time(s) on performance days.
