Theatre by the Sea today announced that it's selling gift tickets for the 2012 Summer Season:

Forever Plaid
June 1 - June 17 (Preview Performances May 30 & 31)

One of the most popular and successful musicals in recent memory, this deliciously goofy revue centers on four young, eager male singers killed in a car crash in the 1950s on the way to their first big concert. Miraculously they are revived for the posthumous chance to fulfill their dreams and perform the show that never was. The “Plaids”
sing great nostalgic pop hits of the ‘50s in the closest of harmony, squabble boyishly over the smallest intonations, and execute charmingly outlandish choreography with over-zealous precision. Songs includes, “Heart and Soul,” “Three Coins in a Fountain,” “16 Tons,” and many others.

The Sound of Music
June 22 - July 14 (Preview Performances June 20 & 21)

Set in Austria in 1938, this Rodgers and Hammerstein musical follows the adventures of a high-spirited young novice Who is ill-fitted for the life of the convent. Sent to serve as governess for the seven children of a widowed naval officer, Maria wins their hearts (and his) with her exuberant love of life. The family's attempt to escape from the Nazis is one of the most thrilling and inspirational finales ever presented onstage. This beloved family classic features a glorious score including “My Favorite Things,” “Climb Ev’ry Mountain.” and “The Sound of Music.”

9 to 5: The Musical
July 20 - August 11 (Preview Performances July 18 & 19)

OSTC is excited to present another Rhode Island Premiere! This hilarious musical based on the popular movie tells the story of friendship and revenge in the Rolodex era, when three unlikely friends and co-workers conspire to take control of their company and learn there's nothing they can't do -- even in a man's world. Featuring a score written by Dolly Parton, this musical is outrageous, thought-provoking, and even a little romantic. 9 to 5: The Musical is about teaming up and taking care of business... it's about getting credit and getting even... it’s about livin’ and “workin’ 9 to 5!”

How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying
August 17 – September 2 (Preview Performances August 15 & 16)

From the authors of Guys and Dolls comes one of the most delightfully irreverent musicals of all time. A satire of big business and all it holds sacred, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying follows the rise of J. Pierrepont Finch, who uses a little handbook called "How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying" to climb the corporate ladder from lowly window washer to high-powered executive, tackling such familiar but potent dangers as he aggressively compliant "company man," the boss' whiny, nepotistic nephew, the office party, backstabbing co-workers, caffeine addiction and, of course, true love.

Subscriptions for the 2012 Summer Season are also available. Subscribers enjoy discounted rates with two different options. The Premiere Subscription allows subscribers to choose the best seats, while saving over single ticket prices. The Flexible Passport provides four “seats” which can be used in any combination – one ticket for four shows on different nights, two tickets for two different shows or any other combination imaginable. The choice is yours… or theirs!
