A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS at Ocean State Theatre
Ocean State Theatre Company ushers in the holidays with a live performance of the popular holiday classic, A Charlie Brown Christmas, which will be presented for one performance only on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 11:00 am.
The classic animated television special "A Charlie Brown Christmas," which was first shown in 1965 and has been part of the holiday tradition ever since, comes to life in this faithful stage adaptation, in which Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and the rest of the Peanuts Gang discover the true meaning of Christmas.
When Charlie Brown complains about the overwhelming materialism he sees among everyone during the Christmas season, Lucy suggests that he become the director of the school Christmas pageant. Charlie Brown accepts, but this proves to be a frustrating endeavor. When an attempt to restore the proper holiday spirit with a forlorn little Christmas fir tree fails, he needs Linus' help to discover the real meaning of Christmas.
Directed by OSTC's Managing Director, Robert Miller Jr., with musical direction by Juan Rodriguez, this delightful family-friendly musical will be performed by Ocean State Theatre Company's OSTeenCo., which was created to provide an opportunity for teen actors to benefit from a professional theatre experience, culminating in the performance of two productions, which are part of OSTC's 2016-17 Family Fun Fest. This year's OSTeenCo features the talents of Douglas Meeker and Haley Pine of Barrington; Kate Marshall Fitzgerald, Abigail McMahon, Lily McMahon, Mary Mullane and Eva Senerchia of Warwick; Timothy Neal Fine and Bryn ElizaBeth Martin of North Kingstown; and Grant Whitney of East Greenwich, with a special guest appearance by OSTC's Director of Educational Programming and Community Outreach, Jason Loete.
A Charlie Brown Christmas will be presented on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 11:00 am. The theatre is located at 1245 Jefferson Boulevard, Warwick, RI. Single tickets are $10.00 each with packages of three Family Fun Fest shows or more for $8.00 per ticket. Discount rates are available for groups of 20 or more by calling (401) 921-1777 x112. Tickets are on sale at the box office Monday through Friday from 12 noon - 6:00 pm, Saturdays from 12 noon - 4:00 pm, and from 12 noon until curtain time on performance days.
