Moro No Brasil 2006


About the Album: Moro no Brasil is a true celebration of music and culture. Brazil is rich in musical tradition. The documentary is a declaration of KaurismakiÕs love for the country Ð his adopted home for over fifteen years. Kaurismaki experienced melting-pots of customs and tradition in the cities of Penambuco, Bahia and Rio de Janiero. His film documents the variety of BrazilÕs musical expression and the influence it has had on world music. During the production of the film he also opened a live music club, "MikaÕs Bar," in Rio de Janiero, where many of these performances were recorded. The record features music by Seu Jorge and many more Brazilian acts.

Later he branched out into bossa nova as well as the songs of David Bowie, which he sang in Portuguese in Wes Anderson's 2004 film The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. Bowie raved about a?oethis new level of beauty which he has imbued them with.a?? He now stars in the Netflix crime drama Irmandade (Brotherhood).
