Walnut Street Theatre will bring the acclaimed award-winning musical DREAMGIRLS to life as they close their 216th season of dreams. This dazzling production begins previews on March 25, opens April 2, and runs through May 4.

Tiffany Mann is magnificent in The Muny's DREAMGIRLS as Effie White. She is a powerhouse performer with riveting stage presence and gigantic voice. Her heartbroken, resentful, and bitter portrayal painted a determined Effie who would not be pushed aside.

Tiffany Mann, Aisha Jackson, Courtnee Carter, Charl Brown, Nick Rashad Burroughs, Ron Himes, Aramie Payton, Robby Clater and Natalie Kaye Clater will star in the Muny production of Dreamgirls.

Dreamgirls will open in Stockholm the 12th of September directed by one of the country's most acclaimed directors, Edward af Sillén with a Swedish translation by Calle Norlén. Premiere 12 September 2024 at the China Theater in Stockholm.

Marking a return to a celebrated and beloved tradition, the Lone Tree Arts Center produces the iconic musical Dreamgirls this fall. Featuring a creative team stacked with acclaimed local talent, this production is the first theatrical event produced in Lone Tree since Beehive: The 60s Musical in 2019.

The point of musical theater (for most people) is pure entertainment, and the New Theatre & Restaurant original production of 1981’s DREAMGIRLS hits the bullseye. DREAMGIRLS is directed by Jerry Jay Cranford and stars a comparatively large, twenty-one member cast backed by an eight-piece orchestra.  Cranford has assembled a cast of Broadway belters and fine dancers to tell the tale of a Supremes-like black female singing trio around 1960 and in the decade to follow.   The show is flashy and impeccably costumed.  The set, while relatively simple, is technically superior. LED screens are used across the background to simulate locations.  Not much was spared when the producer was asked to fund this production.  Choreography by Courtney German is frenetic, well drilled, and perfectly appropriate for this genre.  The musical score is spectacular by Henry Krieger and Tom Eyen.   Several numbers (including the title track) became number one hits outside the show.
