Phoebe Can’t Know explores the complexities of young love through the eyes of Evan and Phoebe, childhood friends whose feelings evolve as they grow older. As Evan grapples with his burgeoning affection for Phoebe, who is also pursued by their mutual friend Aaron, the tension escalates with the possibility that Phoebe might be aware of their feelings. This coming-of-age romance resonates with themes found in heartfelt tales of love triangles. Directed by Susan Gross, the play is part of the KidsWrite! Festival, showcasing the talents of North Carolina’s 6th-12th graders.
