THE CATS is coming to Teatro Municipal Joaquimbenite in Portugal March 2nd to 5th, 2019.

T. S. Eliot (1888-1965), Nobel of Literature in 1948, composed an important poetic work in English language. Published in 1939, Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats is an ode to cats that has delighted the lovers of the species, coming to inspire Andrew Lloyd Weber's famous musical comedy Cats. Released in London in 1981, it took the cats to the scene like never before.

Superlatively literary beings, several other poets have already dedicated themselves to the metaphysical study of cats. Eliot's book, the masterpiece of love and humor about cats (that is, who we imagine they are) contains within it the flame of transgression and adventure capable of providing, without infantilizing, the encounter between children and art . Mysterious and hedonistic, the world of cats challenges the imagination of the children through this poetic study, and whose program is formulated from the beginning in this riddle: «How to name cats?», Considering that they have several, among them a secret and never confessed, and that no human investigation can discover? What will be the secret names of Rom Rom, Sara Pintada, Matalote and Rapioca, the cats of this adaptation that Teresa Gafeira made from the work of Eliot? Good question!
