Passagem Secreta is now playing at Teatro das figuras. Performances run through 22 December.
In early 2020 Fernando Mota started a new cycle of research with the creation of musical instruments and sound objects using dead trees, stone, water and other natural materials. Since then, he has created the Concert for a Tree, the film 7 Poems for a New World, with director Mário Melo Costa, and the film O Bosque, with Margarida Botelho (ordered by Gulbenkian).
Passagem Secreta is a multidisciplinary show for all ages that puts this sound research in dialogue with the poetry of Vasco Gato and the visual creation of Mário Melo Costa, drawing connections between the communication system of trees and the concepts of family roots, belonging and community.
In this show we will also explore the idea of a??a??nature and art as healing and the fantastic as a tool for social and political transformation.
