Having knocked critics off their feet and swept awards in New York City, Chicago, The Edinburgh FringeFestival, and London, TheBomb-itty of Errors is now coming to Portland. The Bomb-itty of Errors is a high-paced, energetic, musical "add-rap-tation" of William Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors. Elizabethan times get pumped up with live hip-hop flavor (that's right, a live DJ on-stage interacting with the actors) in this hilarious, award-winning show.

We know better than anybody that the last thing Portland probably needs right now is another Shakespeare production. But we're Post5 and we do Shakespeare. It's what we do, so what about adding a BEAT. And some hi-hat. Put away your pumpkin pants and bust out your Adidas Superstars. TheBomb-itty of Errors is a celebration of rhyme and rhythm in its many forms. Poetry is a timeless link between Shakespeare's free verse and Hip-Hop, and this kind of Culture Clash is exactly what we're looking for. Turn some Elizabethan nerds into fans of Grand Master Flash. Turn some Hip-Hop fans into Bard-o's.

Sam Dinkowitz (creator/director/performer of the Post5 hit Spectravagasm) spins his own form of magic with a diverse cast of some of Portland's greatest young talent. It's a rap musical. It's a sketch comedy show. It's a poetry slam. It's a night at the club. And yes...it's Shakespeare.

"The cast spins comic gold. This energetic twist on Shakespeare's THE COMEDY OF ERRORS is a thrill, due primarily to the jaw-dropping performances of the cast. Inspired silliness - they're da bomb! GRADE: A!" (For the complete EW review, go to EW.COM)

- Entertainment Weekly

"This fantastic show is one of the most entertaining, slick and inventive you'll see on the Fringe this year-and it has some clever insights to shed on the Bard's classic farce too. . .All expert rappers and natural physical comics. . .Does what so many productions fail to do-it makes Shakespeare funny. Not just chuckling, yes-I-see-this-part-is-meant-to-be-comical funny, but laugh out loud, hollering and cheering funny. . .The language is as clever, sharp and twisty as Shakespeare's. Do yourself a favour and see this show: it's da bomb."

- Edinburgh Evening News

"Bomb-itty is witty, lewd and altogether new. Think 'The Beastie Boys from Syracuse'." - The New Yorker

"Whatever it was that inspired New York University students to come up with The Bomb-itty of Errors, an "ad-rap-ation" of The Comedy of Errors (if you call something The Bomb in hip-hop speak it means something really good) it was a stroke of genius. . .the language fizzes with new life, it's irreverent and yet in tune with Shakespeare's original, it's clever and witty and fast. And the performances are staggeringly high-octane."

Post5 Theatre started in August of 2011 with three people in their mid-twenties and the dream of staging the beautiful classic, Romeo and Juliet. The company picked the courtyard of Mile Post 5, an artist community in Portland, OR to launch their new venture with a vision to produce fresh, youthful, ensemble based theatre.

2015 saw Post5 moved to the Portland community of Sellwood. Just a short ten-minute drive from downtown, the new space has been a work-in-progress that continues to grow as a hub of creativity for the Portland theatre scene.

In the fall of 2015 Founding Artistic Director Ty Boice and Associate Artistic Director Cassandra Boice handed over the reigns to a new artistic team comprised of Paul Angelo, Rusty Tennant and Patrick Walsh. With new leadership comes new faces, new ideas, and new expectations. For years, the slogan of Post5 Theatre has been "Come play with us." Now, the company hopes you will "Come grow with us."

The 2016 Season features three of Shakespeare's greatest tragedies, two hilarious adaptations of Shakespeare classics, a Dickensian favorite, and two contemporary classics we hope to share with you. Post5 aims to be a viable opportunity for professional theatre firmly rooted in developing the cultural landscape of the Sellwood community.

Over the years, Post5 has become known as a place to see the stories people have told for centuries (and are likely to tell for centuries to come) in new and exciting ways, while maintaining an edge of youthful energy. This is something that we hope will never change.

Performances are Fridays-Sundays, from August 24th to September 17th, with the official opening night on August 26th. An additional Thursday performance will be presented on September 15th. All performances are presented at the Post5 Theatre, 1666 SE Lambert St. Portland at 7:30pm.
