Described by Tharp as “fierce, driving and relentless,” In the Upper Room melds ballet and modern dance in a powerful tour de force driven by Phillip Glass’s rhythmic score. In Nine Sinatra Songs, Tharp blends ballet and ballroom movement, elevating the glamour and finesse of social dancing to a dance theatre quality.
