Pittsburgh Musical Theater Announces Cast For HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH
![]()
Pittsburgh Musical Theater starts a second year of professional shows at their own Gargaro Theater in the city's West End with a limited engagement of Hedwig and the Angry Inch.
Performances are at 10 p.m. Friday, November 9, 16 and Saturday, November 10, 17.
All tickets are $45 and can be purchased online at pittsburghmusicals.com/tix-hedwig or by calling (412) 539-0900 x232.
The show stars Braden Chapman as Hedwig, who is well known as drag queen Mimi Imfurst of RuPaul's Drag Race fame. Pittsburgh favorite Larissa Overholt will play the role of Yitzhak.
Hedwig and the Angry Inch tells the story of one of the most unique characters to ever hit the stage, smashing the fourth wall with a pulsing score and electrifying performances. The show centers on an East German transsexual, "a slip of a girlyboy," who moves to America after a botched gender affirmation surgery. By the end, our heroine embraces the fullness of her identity in one of the most electrifying scenes.
Hedwig contains adult themes and language and may not be appropriate for children.
