Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts will present Vanessa Williams in concert on Sunday, Jan. 18, at 7:30 p.m. in the Virginia G. Piper Theater. The performance is the final stop on her seven-city January tour.

One of the most respected and multifaceted performers in entertainment today, Vanessa Williams has conquered the musical charts, Broadway, television and motion pictures.

Having sold more than 25 million records worldwide, Williams is one of just a few artists to score No. 1 and Top 10 hits on Billboard's album and singles charts in the combined areas of pop, dance, R&B, adult contemporary, holiday, Latin, gospel and jazz.

Williams' signature song, "Save the Best for Last," topped musical charts in 1992. Among her other hits are "Dreamin'," "The Right Stuff" and "Colors of the Wind," the Academy Award-winning theme song to the 1995 Disney film Pocahontas.

Williams has earned widespread critical acclaim, including multiple Grammy nominations, three Emmy nominations for her role in the ABC comedy Ugly Betty and a Tony nomination for her role in the 2002 Broadway revival of Into the Woods. She received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2007.

Williams' autobiography, You Have No Idea, co-written with her mother, Helen Williams, was a New York Times best-seller in 2012.

A strong advocate for equal rights, especially concerning the gay community and minorities, Williams was honored with the Human Rights Campaign Ally for Equality Award for her humanitarian contributions.
