Tempe Little Theatre Closes the Curtain on SWEET CHARITY, 4/4
On April 4th Tempe Little Theatre, the community's only non-profit, all volunteer, theater company will end its run of the classic musical SWEET CHARITY at the Tempe Center for the Arts. With a book written by Neil Simon, music by Cy Coleman and lyrics by Dorothy Fields, SWEET CHARITY will be directed for Tempe Little Theatre by Jeffrey Middleton.
SWEET CHARITY follows the adventures of Charity Hope Valentine, a taxi dancer at the Fandango Ballroom in New York City. Charity is a girl who wants to find love so badly that she loses sight of who she truly is. She makes her way through several changes and chances at romance, but does she find love? This is a fascinating musical comedy with several big show-stopper numbers like "Big Spender," "If My Friends Could See Me Now," and "I'm a Brass Band."
This production is supported in part by grants from the City of Tempe, the Salt River Project, and the Arizona Commission on the arts with funding from the state of Arizona and the National Endowment for the Arts.
