THE TALE OF THE ALLERGIST'S WIFE Enters Final Week At Theater Works
"An intelligently funny and satirically relevant uptown comedy." John Simon, New York Magazine. THE TALE OF THE ALLERGIST'S WIFE is a hilarious tale about New York dilettante Marjorie Taub, a middle-aged doctor's wife, hooked on culture - mornings at the Whitney, afternoons at MOMA and evenings at BAM. Winner of 3 Tony Awards including Best Play and 2 Drama Desk Awards including Outstanding New Play THE TALE OF THE ALLERGIST'S WIFE is "Uproarious, "... earns its wall-to-wall laughs." New York Times. Directed by multiple award winner David Vining, THE TALE OF THE ALLERGIST'S WIFE final performances are Wednesday, October 13th through Sunday, October 17th.
This production is a raucous comedy from one of America's most outrageous playwrightsCharles Busch and it features two professional Actors Equity Association performers in leading roles, Robyn Allen and Gene Ganssle. Follow Marjorie Taub as she is plunged into a mid-life crisis of Medea-like proportions; her children are grown, her beloved therapist recently died and her mother, obsessed with bowel-movements, grates on her nerves. She's shaken out of her lethargy by the reappearance of a fascinating childhood friend, but is this friend real or fantasy?
THE TALE OF THE ALLERGIST'S WIFE is directed by multiple award winner David Vining. David began his professional directing career in 1973 and has directed over a hundred productions for university, community and professional companies.
